Lecturer in Carpentry

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
 
To work with the Head of Department to deliver a high quality Carpentry curriculum including classroom/workshop, theory and practical teaching. This role will include assessments and reviews of practical work, that meets with Bath College quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver up to L1, L2 and L3 Carpentry standards and programmes using appropriate teaching methods.
  • Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning. 
  • Plan and deliver specialist sessions in acting using appropriate teaching methods whilst embedding the promotion of diversity within the Carpentry industry and the College.
  • To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team. 
  • To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Level 2 (e.g. GCSE) English and Maths at Grade C or above.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, in a carpentry/joinery discipline.
  • L5 teaching qualification or equivalent(or willingness to work 
  • towards)
  • Demonstrate E-literacy and competency in utilising the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of using IT to take photos and record audio and video using mobile technology.
